How do I manually configure Uni Email on my Android mobile device using Gmail?

How to manually configure Uni Email on your Android mobile device using Gmail as your email client

 

1. Initiate setup.

After creating your Uni Email account, you will be presented with your email's manage page. 

OR

Tap 'Email' from the bottom menu and select the account you want to set up.

Tap 'Use this email now' to begin.

2. Enable Uni Email Assitant.

You will be prompted to enable the Uni Email Assistant to help guide you through the steps.

Tap 'Continue' to use the assistant.

  • Tap 'Cancel' to return to the email manage page and bypass the assistant.
  • Then tap 'Manual Configuration' to proceed to setup without the assistant.
  • Skip to Step 4.

3. Allow Uni Email Assistant.

The Uni Email Assistant is an overlay app to help guide you through adding your new email account to your device. You must allow the Uni Email Assistant to be displayed over your settings panel for it to work.

Tap the toggle to the right. You will be redirected to the Gmail app settings.

The Uni Assistant will provide instructions at each screen for adding your new Uni Email account.

You must advance the Uni Assistant using the arrow as you move to the next step.

 

4. Select the account type.

Look for an option like 'Other', 'Personal' or 'IMAP' and tap to select it.

Tap the arrow to advance the Uni Email Assistant.

5. Add your email address.

Enter your new Uni Email email address.

Tap 'Next'.

Tap the right arrow to advance the Uni Email Assistant.

6. Select the account type

Look for 'IMAP' and tap to select the account type.

Tap the right-arrow to advance the Uni Email Assistant.

7. Enter your email password.

Enter the password for the new email address.

Tap 'Next'.

Tap the right-arrow to advance the Uni Email Assistant.

8. Set the incoming server setting.

Enter "imap.hosting" in the 'Incoming Server (IMAP) field setting.

Tap 'Next'.

Tap the right-arrow to advance the Uni Email Assistant.

9. Set the outgoing server setting.

Enter "smtp.hosting" in the 'Outgoing Server (SMTP) field setting.

Tap 'Next'.

Tap the right-arrow to advance the Uni Email Assistant.

10. You're almost done!

Confirm the account behavior settings.

Tap 'Next.

11. Confirm your preferred email name. 

Enter the name you want to appear with your email address if you wish (optional).

Tap 'Next'.

Tap the 'Yes' to close the Uni Email Assistant.

12. Email away!

Your new inbox will automatically launch ready to send and receive emails using your new email address.
