Uniregistry offers a secure way for buyers to pay for domains over time through its industry-leading payment plan technology. If you do not yet have a Uniregistry account, or have not yet joined the Market, please refer to the articles below:
How does it work?
How much does this cost?
In order to administer and manage a payment plan, Uniregistry charges a setup fee which is 0.45% of the purchase price or $125 USD, whichever is greater, and a monthly $40 USD service fee.
The setup fee is required to be paid along with the first payment and the service fee is due with each payment made. If a Buyer decides to pay the remaining balance early, they are not required to pay the outstanding service fees.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pay the balance at any time? Is there a Penalty?
You may pay the entire balance off at any time. There is no penalty in doing so.
What happens if I delay a payment?
No payments will be accepted after twenty-one calendar days past due unless specifically authorized by Seller.
Can the seller resell the domain name to another buyer during the term of the agreement?
The buyer and the seller have contractually agreed to specific terms of the payment plan. Those terms state that once the first payment (down payment) is made the domain will be push transferred into the Buyer's Uniregistry account. The Seller will not have access to the domain unless the Buyer defaults on the financial obligations.
What happens if I stop making payments?
You have a 21-day grace period. If you do not make a payment within that amount of time the system will automatically terminate the agreement and the domain will be returned to the seller's account. You can make a request to your Broker to reinstate the transaction, and he will seek approval from the seller. Additional fees may apply
What happens if I miss a payment?
Our system will contact you using the information you have provided us to let you know if you are late on your payments. Please make sure to provide Uniregistry with multiple forms of contact information in case this becomes necessary.
When can I use the domain?
You can use the domain as soon as you make your first payment unless otherwise specified by the Seller.
Can I transfer the domain to another registrar?
The domain will remain registered at Uniregistry until the outstanding balance is paid. Once the Buyer has paid for the domain, they may transfer the domain to any registrar of their choosing.
What payment methods are there?
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and bank wire. ACH is not accepted.
How are installments processed?
If you have elected to make payment using a credit card, it will be automatically charged. If you choose to wire the funds, please note that it is not instant. On average it usually will take between 1-3 business days to receive payment. At times, mainly due to bank holidays, it can take longer.
